A little bit of magic and a step back in time!

This week has been great fun!

Magic maths

In our maths work, we have been using and applying our number skills to investigate different magic tricks. Each day we were shown a trick and then given time to use our number sense to try and solve how the trick was done. Through our work we revisited all of our calculation skills and had to use a variety of strategies as well as reasoning about maths through maths talk with our partners and in groups.

We really enjoyed magic maths and showed just how much we have learnt over the year.

On Friday we ended the week with a step back in time to 1912 and a trip aboard the Titanic!

We explored many facts linked to this historical events by creating timelines, writing diaries and postcards in character and by comparing this great liner of the past to the world's largest cruise ship today.

Assembly1   Assembly 2

It was a day full of fun, enthusiasm and learning and we enjoyed sharing our leanring with the other children in our presentation assembly.

We can't wait to see what the last week of the year will bring but we are sure it promises to be an amazing end to a FANTASTIC year!
