This week we have been busy celebrating some famous figures...
In honour of The Queen's 90th birthday, we enjoyed some litter picking as part of the Spring Clean for The Queen initiative. 3JH met with some children from Hollyfield School and worked together to make a change in Rectory Park with a team litter pick which was great fun! 3CC and 3EC worked on tidying the school grounds and enjoyed using the special, purple Clean for The Queen bin bags...
Later in the week, we all took part in World Book Day activities. To pay tribute to Roald Dahl, whose books many of us have enjoyed reading (including as part of our reading challenge), we all dressed as characters from his books and completed activities throguhout the day with a Roald Dahl book theme. In Literacy, we created dreams for the BFG and in Maths we solved problems linked to characters and events from well known Roald Dahl stories. We had a great day and it has inspired us ahead of our Shakespeare week next week in which we will be learning more about another great British writer.
