We are really enjoying our transition text 'Voices in the Park' by Anthony Browne. We are exploring the four character's feelings and thoughts about the same incident and are doing lots of writing surrounding this. The illustrations are also very interesting and have allowed us to explore hidden meanings and emotions even further.

One young man in 2DH was especially proud of his show and tell yesterday. He brought in Sutton Coldfield's Lady Mayoress to visit us. Mayoress Hodivala shared her special chain of office - it was beautiful. We enjoyed talking about her role and responsibilities and how she is the first Mayoress in Sutton Coldfield for 42 years. Wow! What a special visitor!

Year 2 have enjoyed a fabulous trip to Lichfield today. We have learned about Tudor buildings, Erasmus Darwin and Samuel Johnson. We were lucky enough to visit Samuel Johnson's house and learn all about his love of reading and how he pioneered the first dictionary. We also learned all about the things Erasmus Darwin invented and about his life. We were then very lucky to have a trip around Lichfield Cathedral with a special member of the church.
