Well done, to all the children from KS2 that represented the school yesterday at the Area Sports Athletics Competition. Mrs Cowdery, Mrs Clarke and Mrs Edwards took 37 children from across the school to participate in a variety of track and field events. The children were a real credit to the school with impeccable behaviour all afternoon. They performed brilliantly in their events and were rewarded with the runners up trophy for Field events. Well done all!

KS1 Multiskills Competition

Well done to the Year 2 pupils who showed off their athletics skills by kicking, jumping, running, throwing and running their way through the multiskills tournament last week! Whitehouse Common competed fantastically against 6 other schools.

Amazing team work led to a high score, but unfortunately we were beaten to victory! A special well done to one of our team members who even won a prize for showing ‘determination’ throughout the competition.

Run 4 School 2018

Have you and your family signed up for the 2018 Run 4 School yet? Run 4 School is a family-friendly 5K event where you can choose to walk, jog, skip, run or sprint around Sutton Park! Many schools from all over Sutton Coldfield are taking part. Not only is this a brilliant way to get active and spend time with your family and friends, it helps raise money for both our school and a very deserving charity, The Norman Laud Foundation.

Tomorrow (Saturday 7th July) is the deadline for signing up. We currently have an impressive 113 people already coming along from Whitehouse Common, the second-highest number of participants from one school so far! If you'd like to sign up, the event is on Sunday 15th July and it starts at 11am.

For more information, including how to sign up, visit ''! Can we reach our goal of signing up 150 people before the deadline tomorrow? I think so!

Year 5 Cricket Champions

We are very proud and thrilled that the year 5 cricket team won the tournament last night against 6 local schools.Despite their worries about the tough competition, the team worked extremely well together to beat the opposition! As a result, the team are now through to the regionals held in July.

It was great to see some past pupils there too, offering coaching and tips!

Thank you also to the year 6 pupils who played in a separate cricket match last night too. The team worked well together and should be proud to have represented our school!

The children were praised for their behaviour and sportsmanship!

Many thanks to all the parents who attended to support the children.
