Travel and Parking Information

We would like to remind all families that our school is located within a residential area. Please park considerately and respect our neighbours by avoiding blocking driveways or access points.

We know that drop-off parking spaces around the school are limited, so we encourage families to walk, cycle, scoot, or ‘park and stride’ whenever possible.

Car Free School Streets

To help make our roads safer and to encourage active travel, our school is part of the Car Free School Streets initiative. This means that during key times, the road directly outside the school are closed to most motor vehicles under a Road Traffic Order. It is an offence for unauthorised vehicles to access Cotysmore Road during the road closure times from 8:15am – 9:00am and 2:45pm – 3:45pm, Monday to Friday.

During these times, only residents and authorised vehicles are permitted access.

We kindly ask all families to plan journeys with this in mind and to avoid driving onto the restricted streets during these periods. Your support helps to create a safer, calmer environment for everyone arriving at and leaving school.

Safe Parking and Drop-Off

If you do need to drive, please:

  • Avoid parking on double yellow lines or zigzag markings near the school gates.

  • Do not park across residents’ driveways.

  • Always escort your child to the school gate, unless your child is in Year 6 and has prior permission to walk independently.

Walking, Cycling and Scooting

We encourage children to travel actively where possible. Please ensure that:

  • Helmets are worn when cycling or scooting.

  • Children are aware of pedestrians and vehicles, especially when crossing driveways.

  • Bikes and scooters are pushed, not ridden, once inside the school grounds.

  • Children remain close to their accompanying adult and have your full attention on the way to and from school.

Together, we can make our school streets safer, calmer, and cleaner for everyone.
